Job summary

Talentmark is seeking an Animal Technician to join a bioscience organisation near Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. This is a permanent, on-site role within a highly regulated environment in support of pharmaceutical and pre-clinical research.

You will perform daily animal care, welfare observations and records, ensure environmental conditions are maintained, and assist with routine husbandry tasks in line with Home Office guidelines and SOPs.

Qualifications

• Practical animal care and welfare duties in a regulated environment.
• Ability to follow SOPs and Home Office guidelines.
• Experience with daily observation, weighing and handling of animals.
• Strong eye for detail and documentation accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Carry out daily animal care, husbandry, handling and welfare observations.
• Provide animals with appropriate environmental enrichment.
• Monitor and maintain animal rooms, equipment and environmental conditions.
• Maintain accurate facility records and stock information.
• Support the receipt and dispatch of goods in line with facility procedures.
• Assist with routine animal management activities, including weighing, counting, sexing and re-housing.
• Work in accordance with Home Office guidelines, SOPs and animal welfare requirements.
