Job summary

Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) invites applications for On-Call Firefighters at Ballyclare Fire Station. You must be able to respond to emergency calls within 5 minutes of being alerted and attend a mandatory 2 hour drill night weekly.

There are four contracts offered through this recruitment process: 119 Hour, 91 Hour Banded, 91 Hour Daytime, and 40 Hour Daytime. We are an equal opportunities employer and welcome applications from all suitably qualified persons.

Qualifications

• Be able to respond to emergency calls within 5 minutes of being alerted.
• Meet the required standard of physical fitness and strength.
• Attend a mandatory 2 hour drill night each week.
• If employed elsewhere, obtain employer consent to attend emergency calls.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency incidents as part of Ballyclare Fire Station.
• Work as part of a team to protect the local community.
• Attend mandatory drill nights and ongoing training.
