On-Call Facilities Technician - School & Site Maintenance

Job summary

Dalkia seeks a proactive Facilities Operator to support school sites across the region. You will work under the Operations Supervisor / Facilities Manager to keep sites compliant, safe and fully operational, performing both planned and reactive tasks and ensuring RAMS are followed.

You’ll open/close schools, manage subcontractors, issue Permits to Work, maintain logs, monitor PPM tasks and uphold L8 water hygiene standards while providing responsive service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Capable of working with minimum supervision.
• Willing to travel and work at on-site locations as required.
• Able to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Good communication skills.
• Understand and react to financial penalties.
• IT literate and comfortable with basic digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Comply with Company procedures.
• Open and close school per occupancy times.
• Report faults to Help Desk (e.g., leaks, damaged tiles).
• Carry out non-specialist repairs as required.
• Ensure subcontractors follow RAMS and leave site tidy.
• Issue Permits to Work where trained and manage access.
• Update logs and ensure PPM tasks are completed on time.
• Support Facilities Manager / Operations Supervisors as needed.
