Job summary

Omexom Design in the United Kingdom seeks a Design Engineer (DE) for Overhead Transmission Line projects. You will provide technical leadership and hands-on design using PLS-CADD and PLS-TOWER, delivering robust, cost-effective solutions on time and within budget.

As part of a growing team, you will oversee design packages, mentor junior engineers, and engage with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders to ensure quality and compliance with UK standards. Occasional UK travel is expected.

Qualifications

• A degree in Civil/Mechanical/Structural Engineering; Master’s degree advantageous.
• 2+ years of experience in OHL design.
• Chartered Engineer status or working towards chartership.
• Proficiency in PLS CADD and PLS TOWER; knowledge of AutoCAD and MS Project.
• Strong verbal and written communication; able to convey complex concepts.
• Membership of professional institutions (IET, CIGRÉ, IEEE) desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake OHL design activities ensuring safe, robust, compliant, and cost-effective solutions.
• Manage design processes and coordinate with planners, design managers, and other teams.
• Perform detailed analyses with PLS-CADD/PLS-TOWER.
• Review subcontractor design deliverables and conduct audits.
• Support junior engineers through mentoring and training.
• Promote innovation and keep up-to-date with industry standards.
