Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Power Control Specialist for an offshore wind farm in Barrow-in-Furness on a contract basis. The role operates on a 7 days shift pattern with 12-hour shifts, covering 24/7 control from the Power Control Room.

You will apply specialist knowledge to ensure safe, compliant operation of Generation and Transmission assets, manage REMIT publications, and support with escalation and incident handling in a multi-stakeholder environment.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HPPP/PPC/SCS operation for active power and frequency control.
• Knowledge of voltage and reactive power control for wind assets.
• Knowledge of WTG control and generation restricted control duties.

Responsibilities

• Carry out Generation and Transmission Power Control tasks per procedures and REMIT requirements.
• Publish REMIT messages and escalate as needed.
• Maintain specialist technical knowledge across regions to resolve issues.
• Support Power Control processes, including alerts, incident handling and handovers.
• Coordinate with TSOs, DNOs, OFTOs and O&M providers on critical tasks.
