Job summary

Osbit, based at Riding Mill in North East England, is seeking a Mechanical Engineer with up to two years’ experience to join a live offshore wind project team. You’ll own projects from concept to completion, design innovative systems and collaborate across disciplines to meet budget and schedule.

The role requires a degree in a technical field, experience with Autodesk Inventor, and hands-on ability in calculations, testing, and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Degree-level qualification in a technical field such as Mechanical Engineering, Offshore Engineering, Naval Architecture, or similar.
• Ability to work with Autodesk Inventor software.
• Proficiency in hand calculations, through to Staad and FEA.

Responsibilities

• Design and build engineering systems from concept to detailed design with technical excellence.
• Manage project deliverables to support on-schedule delivery.
• Manage supplier progress with regular meetings and on-site support.
• Prepare technical documentation and design calculations for peer review and check third-party documentation.
• Prepare for and carry out testing, commissioning and mobilisation activities.
• Liaise with finance and HSSEQ for support and guidance.
• Share knowledge and insights in working groups and presentations.
