Job Description:

Purpose of Role: Accountable for managing a clear pathway through the complexities of the future form and function of offshore wind, driven by challenges of deeper waters, opportunities to improve performance and operation, and interaction with the broader energy system. As a senior manager, the role will involve collaboration with industry, innovation bodies, academia, energy policy colleagues, and adjacent sectors such as hydrogen, new energies, and transmission. You will work closely with Marine Strategy, Planning, and Technical teams, considering inputs to and feedback from TCE's Marine Delivery Routemap, focusing on innovation pathways for future OSW siting and benefits to the UK economy.

The Offshore Wind Innovation Manager will bring authoritative understanding of innovation and technological aspects to ensure The Crown Estate remains at the forefront of sector evolution, supporting testing, demonstration, seabed leasing, and catalyzing activities.

• Define and oversee The Crown Estate's role in OSW sector innovation, acting as the core interface for energy system integration.
• Foster collaboration with relevant energy sector teams, including transmission, energy policy, and supply chain, assessing implications of policy changes for OSW.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders and OSW customers regarding energy systems and policy implications.
• Manage systems integration within OSW, focusing on grid, energy storage, and hydrogen.
• Coordinate relations with industry stakeholders on energy systems and innovation, aligning with OSW sector goals.
• Drive innovation efforts leveraging technology insights to promote sustainability.
• Lead engagement with advisory services, overseeing contracts and negotiations.
• Proven senior leadership experience in systems integration, innovation management, and stakeholder engagement, preferably in renewable energy sectors.
• Strong understanding of energy systems, policy dynamics, and implications for OSW.
• Proficiency in technology insights and sector knowledge, with an interest in innovation.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for stakeholder engagement.
• Effective management of technical advisory services to deliver impact and value.
