Job summary

Rubicon Consulting is seeking an Offshore EHS Advisor for a 6-month rolling contract located offshore in Newcastle. The role delivers professional Environment, Health and Safety support to offshore operations onboard the SOV, promoting safety culture and ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will work with technicians, supervisors, vessel management, and client representatives to identify risks, implement controls, and drive continuous EHS improvement across offshore activities.

Qualifications

• Recognised Occupational Health and Safety qualification (NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent).
• Valid GWO Basic Safety Training certification.
• Previous offshore EHS experience within offshore wind, marine, oil and gas, or other offshore environments.
• Experience supporting risk assessments, audits, inspections, and incident investigations.
• Good understanding of UK offshore health and safety legislation and industry best practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and EHS reporting systems.

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary offshore EHS focal point onboard the SOV.
• Provide practical EHS advice and support to offshore technicians, supervisors, vessel crew, and management teams.
• Promote a positive safety culture through leadership and workforce engagement.
• Support the implementation of company, client, and project-specific EHS requirements.
• Facilitate risk assessments, toolbox talks, and pre-job planning activities.
• Monitor and verify compliance with critical controls and permit-to-work systems.
• Support incident reporting, investigations, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate and participate in emergency drills and preparedness planning.
• Assist in environmental management and reporting across offshore operations.
• Maintain EHS records and prepare weekly/monthly safety performance reports.
