Job summary

Matchtech Group is seeking a Senior HSE Advisor to support a major offshore energy programme. The role focuses on HSE across project delivery, with hybrid working and offshore exposure.

The candidate will bring significant offshore HSE experience, NEBOSH GC, GWO, OGUK Medical and strong stakeholder management to drive safety performance and regulatory compliance across wind, oil and gas projects.

Qualifications

• Significant offshore HSE experience across wind, oil & gas, marine or other high-hazard environments.
• Experience supporting offshore wind and other offshore projects.
• Strong understanding of risk, barrier management and assurance processes.
• Experience facilitating HAZID workshops and risk reviews.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent HSE qualification.
• GWO certification including Enhanced First Aid.
• OGUK Medical including Chester Step Test.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently while influencing multiple project teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide HSE support and guidance to project and operational teams.
• Support mobilisation and execution of offshore activities.
• Review risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Conduct audits, inspections and assurance activities onshore and offshore.
• Lead or support incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are implemented.
• Facilitate HAZID workshops and other risk management processes.
• Support emergency preparedness and response planning.
• Promote a positive safety culture across stakeholders and contractors.
• Monitor compliance with standards, regulations and client requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in HSE performance.

Senior HSE Advisor

Contract Type: Contract (Outside IR35)
Duration: Approximately 14 months
Location: Hybrid working (2-3 days per week at office Grimsby or in Barrow-in-Furness. With offshore travel requirements
Start Date: November 2026 until December 2027
Rate: Negotiable (Outside IR35)

We are supporting an international l offshore wind Owner and Developer to secure a Senior HSE Advisor to support a major offshore energy programme. This is an excellent opportunity for an HSE professional with a strong offshore background to play a key role in ensuring safe and efficient project delivery across a range of operational and engineering activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide HSE support and guidance to project and operational teams.
• Support the safe mobilisation and execution of offshore activities.
• Review and assess risk assessments, method statements and safe systems of work.
• Conduct audits, inspections and assurance activities both onshore and offshore.
• Lead or support incident investigations and ensure lessons learned are implemented.
• Facilitate HAZID workshops and other risk management processes.
• Support emergency preparedness and response planning.
• Promote a positive safety culture across all stakeholders and contractors.
• Monitor compliance with company standards, industry regulations and client requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives relating to health, safety and environmental performance.

Requirements

• Significant HSE experience within offshore environments.
• Experience supporting offshore wind, oil and gas, marine, or other high-hazard industries.
• Strong understanding of risk management, barrier management and assurance processes.
• Experience facilitating HAZID workshops and risk reviews.
• NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent HSE qualification.
• Valid GWO certification, including Enhanced First Aid.
• Current OGUK Medical including Chester Step Test.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently whilst influencing multiple project teams and contractors.
