At Basecamp Research, we're looking for an Office Manager to join our team.

About Us:

Basecamp Research pushes the forefront of complex biological product design by rethinking the data and AI stack necessary for this field. We build partnerships across therapeutics, agriculture, chemicals, and more. Our proprietary data asset includes genetic information collected from around the world, making it the largest genomics database of life on earth. Having recently closed our Series B funding, we are scaling rapidly and developing foundational biological design models.

The Role

We seek a proactive Office Manager for our London team. The role is on-site, three days a week, focusing on office operations, facilities, and fostering a positive company culture through social events. You will ensure our office and lab spaces are welcoming and efficient, supporting our fast-paced startup environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage facilities and office spaces.
  • Maintain relationships with landlords and building management.
  • Organize team events, lunches, and social gatherings.
  • Welcome visitors and coordinate office communications.
  • Liaise with service providers and vendors.
  • Coordinate hazardous waste disposal from the lab.
  • Handle post, couriers, and general office operations.
  • Ensure meeting rooms and offices are presentable.
  • Organize office space and purchase supplies.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and cross-functional projects.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years as an Office Manager or similar role, ideally in a startup.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proactive, independent work ethic with ownership and initiative.
  • Confident in interacting with diverse stakeholders.
  • Flexible mindset and ability to adapt to change.
Advantageous Skills and Experiences
  • Experience with hazardous waste management.
  • Budget planning experience for workspaces.
  • Workspace design and layout optimization skills.
