Job summary

Hatch Training is recruiting a Business Administration Apprentice to support the day-to-day administration of the Kenilworth nursery, while also providing administrative support to the Coventry nursery. Based at Kenilworth, you will gain experience across two sites and contribute to records, invoices and parent enquiries.

You will complete a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship with Hatch Training.

Qualifications

• GCSEs in Maths and English (4/C or above) or equivalent.
• Right to work in the UK and 16+ years old.
• Willingness to complete a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Kenilworth nursery.
• Support the Coventry nursery administration remotely.
• Update children’s and staff records and maintain confidential documentation.
• Answer calls, respond to emails and handle parent enquiries.
• Prepare documents, records and reports; update spreadsheets/databases.
• Assist with invoices and general paperwork; support regulatory administration.

Job description

Hatch Training is working with a fantastic nursery group to recruit a Business Administration Apprentice to support the day-to-day administration of their Kenilworth nursery, while also providing administrative support to their Coventry nursery.

This is a great opportunity for someone who has a genuine passion for the Early Years sector and would enjoy building their career in a busy nursery environment.

The successful candidate will be based at the Kenilworth nursery, however, part of the role will involve supporting the Coventry nursery with administration remotely.

This role would suit someone who is organised, approachable and confident working in a busy and lively nursery environment. The nursery office can be loud and there will be times when you are working around children, practitioners and the general day-to-day activity of the setting, so you should be comfortable working in this type of environment.

Your Role

Your exact responsibilities will develop as you gain experience, but you could be involved in:

• Providing day-to-day administrative support to the Kenilworth nursery
• Supporting the administration of the Coventry nursery remotely
• Updating children's and staff records
• Maintaining accurate and confidential documentation
• Answering telephone calls and responding to emails
• Supporting parent and staff enquiries
• Preparing documents, records and reports
• Updating spreadsheets and databases
• Supporting with invoices and general paperwork
• Assisting with compliance and regulatory administration
• Supporting staff with general administrative tasks
• Helping to keep nursery records organised and up to date
• Using Microsoft Office and other business systems
• Supporting the smooth running of the nursery office

Previous administration or nursery experience is not essential, but a genuine interest in the Early Years sector is important.

Alongside your employment, you will complete a Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship with Hatch Training.

• Be aged 16 or over
• Be able to commute to Kenilworth
• Not currently be in full-time education or hold an equivalent Level 3 qualification
• Have GCSEs at grade 4/C or above in Maths and English, or an equivalent qualification
• Be committed to completing a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship
• Have the Right to Work in the UK and have been living in the UK for at least 3 years
• Must be willing to undergo a DBS check
