Job summary

Network Rail in Guildford is seeking a motivated Technician - Off Track Maintenance to keep the railway safe and clear. You will support the Team Leader, organise the team, and deliver renewal work on off-track assets while occasionally leading the team.

The role requires inspection, fault-finding, and maintenance of drainage, fencing, and vegetation, with a focus on safety and high standards. A valid driving licence and NVQ level qualification are desirable.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in planning and implementing safe systems of work.
• Strong team player with the ability to embed a culture of safety within your team.
• Knowledge of off-track maintenance techniques, including vegetation management and drainage.
• NVQ Level 1 or 2 (or equivalent experience)
• A valid driving licence and willingness to drive.

Responsibilities

• Deliver work safely and efficiently in line with approved systems, standards, and procedures
• Carry out inspections, maintenance, and fault-finding on off-track assets such as drainage, fencing, vegetation, and other infrastructure
• Ensure tools, vehicles, and equipment are fit for use and properly maintained
• Accurately report completed work and maintain essential records
