West Midlands Police is seeking a Learning & Development Training Officer to design, develop and deliver Interventions-related training across the CT Network.

The Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) Network stretches across the UK. We work alongside our partners to help protect the public and our national security by preventing, deterring and investigating terrorist activity.
Based at our modern offices near to Birmingham International Airport, our Operational Development Unit (ODU) is a dedicated team who are responsible for the strategic management of Learning, Training and Exercising (LTE) within the CT Network. The unit forms a key part of the Prepare strand of the Home Office CONTEST Strategy. Working alongside our partners, the ODU harnesses the value of shared LTE to ensure the CT Network is ready, prepared and interoperable to respond to current and emerging terrorism and counter state threats.
We are looking for a motivated, dynamic, innovative and suitably qualified Learning & Development Training Officer to design, develop and deliver training programmes and Continuous Professional Development (CPD) within the Interventions Capability across the United Kingdom Counter Terrorism Network.
You will work Monday - Friday 0800-1600 but an element of flexibility is needed to mee the demands of the post and you may have to work outside of your normal core hours.
As this is a national role, flexibility is crucial and we are happy to consider a more agile approach to your working location and will consider the successful candidate working from an area outside of the West Midlands. However, there will be an expectation that you are prepared to travel nationally on a regular basis to perform this role including having to work extended hours at locations throughout the UK.
The post holder will be responsible for the training design, development and delivery of Interventions related training provided to the CT Network across all 10 CT regions.
Interventions training covers a broad range of subject areas and roles within the learning pathway including Prevent Case Officers, Nominal Management Officers etc. It will therefore be necessary for you to deliver a full training service within the Capability to ensure operational performance is developed and maintained. Your acquired knowledge of formulating training techniques and creative delivery experience (both face to face and blended) will be utilised when working as part of the team and with colleagues and partners from across the UK.
This post requires British nationality (some dual nationalities may be ineligible) and Enhanced Security Check clearance
