Job summary

WR Logistics in Basildon is seeking an experienced Import Coordinator (Ocean Freight) to manage import shipments from start to finish, delivering a seamless, efficient service for customers. You will coordinate bookings, pre-alerts, customs paperwork, and deliveries with overseas agents, customers, and transport providers while maintaining strong communication and attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a freight forwarding operations environment.
• Experience handling ocean import shipments from start to finish.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments.
• Desirable: experience using the CDS customs system; ability to complete customs entries.

Responsibilities

• Manage the complete import process from booking through to final delivery.
• Receiving pre-alerts from overseas agents and partners.
• Creating and managing jobs on the internal operating system.
• Liaising with customers to obtain all required shipping documentation.
• Preparing documentation for customs clearance.
• Coordinating deliveries with transport providers.
• Communicating with customers, agents and suppliers throughout each shipment.
• Raising invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ensuring all shipments are completed efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service.
