Job summary

Loom Talent in Middlesbrough is seeking a commercially driven Business Development Manager to strengthen its Ocean Freight offering across the UK. You will develop strategic relationships and win new accounts from initial engagement through to implementation.

The role offers £65,000-£70,000 salary, a car allowance and a generous bonus structure, with clear long-term progression within a growing freight forwarding business.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Business Development Manager in Ocean Freight or Freight Forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of Ocean Import/Export and international freight forwarding.
• Track record of winning new business and meeting sales targets.
• Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
• Full UK driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure new Ocean Freight business opportunities across the UK.
• Develop long-term relationships with importers, exporters and key decision-makers.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to commercial negotiation and account implementation.
• Sell tailored Ocean Import and Export solutions to meet customer requirements.
• Work closely with operations to onboard customers smoothly.
• Grow existing customer accounts through cross-selling and strategic development.
• Maintain an accurate sales pipeline, CRM records and revenue forecasts.
• Monitor market activity to identify new commercial opportunities.
