An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the NHS Fife Acute Services Division, Occupational Therapy (OT) service. We are looking for an experienced Clinical Support Worker to work with the OT service in the Palliative Care Team.
As an OT Clinical Support Worker (CSW), Band 4, you will carry an independent caseload, under supervision. Intervention is aimed at promoting independent living skills, successful use of symptom management techniques, and equipment provision and delivery.
The majority of OT interventions take place within the hospital and hospice, but you may also need to visit patients’ homes, e.g., to deliver and fit equipment. This requires the ability to travel throughout Fife.
This is a diverse, fast-paced role within a multidisciplinary team, involving various duties with palliative and oncology client groups. The role offers opportunities to collaborate closely with Physiotherapy colleagues, sharing skills and roles as needed. You will require knowledge of palliative care, oncology, occupational therapy equipment, excellent communication and IT skills, and the ability to independently carry out assessments and treatments to a high standard.
Qualifications include a relevant HNC and/or SVQ Level 3, or evidence of working towards these qualifications, or relevant training and experience equivalent to these. Extensive health or social care experience in an OT or related environment is essential.
For informal enquiries, contact Marianne McLeod, OT Palliative Team Lead at 01592 643355 ext 20013 or Lorna Brocklesby, OT Manager at ext 21646.
Note: Due to legislative changes from 1 April 2025, this post may require a different level of criminal records check. If the role is classified as a "regulated role," appointment will be subject to joining the PVG Scheme. Any changes will be confirmed by the Hiring Manager or Recruitment Team.
