Job description

Job Opportunity: Occupational Therapy Clinical Support Worker, Band 3

Location: The Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh, Surgical Team, Full-time, Fixed Term - 7 months

Introduction: We have an exciting opportunity to join our friendly acute Occupational Therapy service. You will work with minimal supervision to implement agreed Occupational Therapy plans as prescribed by qualified Occupational Therapists, including ongoing interventions and rehabilitation. You will be supported by a qualified therapist to support the patient journey, develop your skills, and be part of a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Implement Occupational Therapy plans as prescribed by qualified therapists.
  2. Support patient rehabilitation and interventions.
  3. Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  4. Demonstrate awareness of the role of Occupational Therapy in an acute setting.
  5. Commit to weekend working as part of a 5 over 7 day working pattern.
  6. Participate in staff development opportunities such as appraisal, supervision, and CPD.
Candidate Requirements:
  • Awareness of Occupational Therapy roles in an acute setting.
  • Compassionate with good communication, initiative, and time management skills.
  • Ability to work well within a team.
