Job summary

Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal is seeking an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the Pankhurst Ward team on site. The role focuses on supporting patient recovery, delivering tailored treatment plans, and maintaining high standards of care within an inpatient setting.

Ideal candidates have GCSEs/O-Levels or NVQ Level 2, with prior health and social care exposure being beneficial. Duties include accurate record-keeping and compassionate patient support.

Priory Hospital Cheadle has an opportunity for an occupational therapy assistant to join our team.

Priory Hospital Cheadle Royal, Stockport is an inpatient mental health service for young people and adults. It is accessible by public transport, with local bus routes along Wilmslow Road and Cheadle Hulme and East Didsbury railway stations approximately 1–2 miles from the service.

What you'll be doing

You will join the team on the Pankhurst Ward. In this role, you will play a key part in patient recovery, supporting the assessment and delivery of tailored treatment plans while ensuring dignity, respect, and high standards of care.

• Able to effectively and accurately update clinical records and computerised information systems as directed by the Occupational Therapist in a timely manner.
• Record and report patient’s involvement in 1:1 and groups. Ensuring any unusual physical, mental or emotional occurrences are promptly referred to senior staff and documented in an appropriate manner.
• Having compassion for the patients and their situation.

What you'll bring to the role

Essential for the role – OT Assistant

Candidates must have GCSEs or O-Levels (grades A–C), a relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification, or equivalent practical experience.
