Job summary

Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for an Assistant Therapy Practitioner – Occupational Therapy in East Norfolk. The post supports adults with learning disabilities to improve independence through person-centred activities, under supervision of a Band 6 OT.

The role covers three bases, requires a driving licence, and offers training with a supportive OT team. It is based in a community setting with standard office hours and occasional flexibility.

Qualifications

• Experience with learning disabilities preferable but not essential.
• Ability to work autonomously and with minimal supervision.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with service users, families and colleagues.
• Knowledge of Recovery principles and person-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Plan and facilitate occupationally based 1:1s and groups guided by an Occupational Therapist.
• Work with service users on tasks and activities to promote independence.
• Carry out assessments and contribute to planning and review of interventions.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and contribute to risk assessments.
• Attend mandatory training and supervision.
