Job summary

Priory Hospital Roehampton in London is seeking an entry-level role to support the Occupational Therapist in delivering individual and group-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people aged 4–17. The two inpatient wards accommodate up to 16 youngsters in a welcoming, age-appropriate environment.

Qualifications

• GCSEs or O-Levels (grades A–C) or equivalent practical experience.
• NVQ Level 2 qualification or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience in health and social care is not essential but beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support the Occupational Therapist in delivering individual and group-based interventions for children and young people.
• Encourage daily living skills, routines, emotional regulation, independence and coping strategies.
• Build therapeutic relationships and support engagement in meaningful activities.
• Work with the multidisciplinary team on care planning, reviews, risk management and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure activities comply with Priory policies and safeguarding.

Department: Allied Health Professionals and Psychology

Location: Priory Hospital Roehampton

Compensation: £26,300 / year

Our dedicated young people's mental health service provides specialist support for young people. Outpatient support is available to young people between the ages of 4 and 17, while our day care and inpatient treatment options are available to those between the ages of 12 and 17.

We have two inpatient wards, Richmond Court and Kingston Court, both offering a welcoming, comfortable and age-appropriate environment for up to 16 young people. Each ward provides individually tailored support based on diagnosis and needs, to help our young patients get back on track.

Located in London, Priory Hospital Roehampton has excellent links to motorways, trains, tubes, and buses.

What you'll be doing

• Support the Occupational Therapist in delivering individual and group-based therapeutic interventions for children and young people.
• Encourage young people to develop daily living skills, healthy routines, emotional regulation, independence and positive coping strategies.
• Build positive therapeutic relationships and support young people to engage in meaningful activities as part of their recovery.
• Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team, contributing to care planning, reviews, risk management and discharge planning.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure all activities are delivered safely and in line with Priory policies, safeguarding and clinical standards.

What you'll bring to the role

Candidates will need to have GCSEs or O-Levels (grades A–C), a relevant NVQ Level 2 qualification, or equivalent practical experience. This is an entry-level position, so previous experience within a health and social care setting is not essential; however, experience working within a healthcare, social care or mental health environment would be beneficial.
