Elysium Healthcare is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Avonfield Neurological Centre team in Wellingborough. You will work within a multidisciplinary group to deliver personalised rehabilitation for people with neurological conditions and ensure high standards of care.

You will be HCPC registered, manage a designated caseload, complete assessments, plan and implement evidence‑based interventions, and review outcomes with residents and carers.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration and current licence to practice.
• Experience with neurological conditions and rehabilitation.
• Ability to complete assessments, plan and evaluate outcomes.
• Experience managing a designated caseload.

Responsibilities

• Complete neurological assessments, planning and interventions.
• Rehabilitation to improve function and independence with ADLs.
• Cognitive assessment/rehabilitation.
• Use therapeutic handling skills.
• Assess environment and equipment needs including seating.
• Identify ongoing needs while maximising quality of life.
• Liaise with community colleagues for complex discharge planning.
• Evaluate outcomes aligned to care plans.
• Supervise OT support staff and students.
• Implement and develop evidence-based therapeutic activities.

Job description

You will be HCPC registered, passionate about working with people with neurological conditions to support their rehabilitation, condition management and maximise their quality of life.

You'll work in partnership with residents and carers to set realistic goals and develop collaborative intervention plans, with regular reviews to monitor progress and adapt.

Working as a member of the transdisciplinary team, you'll ensure that high quality individualised care is delivered, which ensures safety and a commitment to promoting recovery, wellbeing, and maximising independence/quality of life.

You will be familiar with the use of outcome measures such as FIM/FAM, CRS-R, WHIM and TOMS, and have experience in managing a designated caseload using knowledge of relevant Occupational Therapy theory. You'll also have practical experience of completing assessments, planning, implementing evidence-based Occupational Therapy interventions, and evaluating outcomes aligned to care plans.

With a strong emphasis on teamwork, you'll receive support from a regional network of healthcare professionals and enjoy access to a wide variety of training courses to support you reaching your career goals.

As an Occupational Therapist you will be:

• Completing neurological assessments, treatment planning and interventions

Join the full multi-disciplinary team at Avonfield – the recently renovated 19-bed specialised neurological centre - providing specialist rehabilitation and care for people with neurological conditions and acquired brain injuries.
