Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting an Occupational Therapist to join the OT Intake and Response Team at County Hall. You will triage referrals, decide pathways, and deliver timely interventions to help people live safely and independently.

You will undertake urgent visits where needed and provide expert clinical guidance to the wider team while addressing safeguarding and mental capacity considerations in line with statutory duties.

Qualifications

• HCPC registration is required.
• Experience in social care/community OT setting is essential.
• Advanced knowledge of OT interventions including moving and handling, equipment provision and adaptations.

Responsibilities

• Triage referrals into the OT service and determine appropriate pathways.
• Deliver urgent and targeted OT interventions to mitigate risks.
• Conduct 'see and solve' visits for short-term issues and undertake required visits.
• Provide clinical guidance to Community Support Workers and colleagues.
• Identify safeguarding/mental capacity issues and act to ensure safety and statutory compliance.
• Manage a varied caseload including high-risk cases and coordinate with health, housing and social care partners.
