Job summary

Leicestershire County Council is recruiting an Occupational Therapist for the OT Intake and Response Team. You will triage referrals, assess remotely where appropriate, and deliver timely, proportionate interventions to keep people safe and independent.

You will identify urgent needs requiring face-to-face visits and work with teams across health, housing and social care. The role requires HCPC registration and strong assessment/risk management skills, with the ability to work autonomously

Qualifications

• Recognised Occupational Therapy qualification and HCPC registration.
• Experience in social care or community OT settings with relevant legislation.
• Advanced knowledge of OT interventions including moving and handling, equipment provision, minor/major adaptations.

Responsibilities

• Triage referrals into OT Service and determine appropriate pathways.
• Deliver urgent and targeted OT interventions; see and solve visits as needed.
• Provide expert clinical oversight and guidance to Community Support Workers.
• Manage a varied caseload including complex/high-risk cases with safeguarding and mental capacity considerations.
