The successful candidate will join an established local-authority service and work with colleagues, individuals, families, carers and partner organisations as appropriate

Qualifications

• A suitably qualified Occupational Therapist with the professional registration required for the assignment.
• Confident undertaking assessments, analysing complex needs and translating findings into practical recommendations.
• A clear communicator who can build effective relationships with service users, families and professional partners.
• Organised, accountable and able to manage priorities within a busy local-authority environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete proportionate occupational therapy and functional assessments in line with the needs of the service.
• Identify appropriate equipment, adaptations, housing-related solutions and other interventions that promote independence and safety.
• Work directly with individuals, families, carers, housing colleagues and partner professionals to agree achievable outcomes.
• Balance independence, choice and positive risk-taking with effective safeguarding and risk management.
• Prepare clear recommendations, maintain accurate case records and progress agreed actions within required timescales.
• Contribute positively to multidisciplinary decision-making and the wider work of the team.
