Job summary

Wokingham Borough Council is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Housing Adaptations Team on a full-time permanent basis. You will assess clients, recommend housing adaptations, and support independent living, balancing safety with independence.

You will use knowledge of housing adaptations, building regulations, and the Disabled Facilities Grant to tailor solutions for individuals, while maintaining person-centered care and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

• Professional degree level Occupational Therapy qualification.
• Current HCPC registration is mandatory.
• Experience managing Housing Adaptations programmes.
• Experience assessing complex needs of clients.
• Comprehensive knowledge of Disabled Facilities Grants (DFGs).

Responsibilities

• Work with adults and carers as part of the Housing Adaptations Team.
• Assess needs and recommend appropriate housing adaptations.
• Use strengths-based approach and build respectful relationships with clients and carers.
• Ensure adaptations comply with building regulations and DFG framework.
• Review support and adaptations to ensure positive outcomes.
