Job summary

Birmingham City Council is seeking a qualified Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Social Care Occupational Therapy Service. The role focuses on supporting citizens to maintain independence and improve quality of life.

We look for HCPC-registered professionals with experience in adult and/or older people care, strong communication, and a commitment to evidence-based practice. A Golden Hello and pension are included along with a generous holiday entitlement.

Qualifications

• Holds a degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
• HCPC registration.
• Experience in adult social care or with older/disabled people is preferred.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to organise and prioritise workload.
• Commitment to ongoing learning and evidence-based practice.

Responsibilities

• Carry out strengths-based assessments of daily living needs.
• Manage your own caseload and deliver timely, person-centred interventions.
• Undertake specialist assessments (mobility, manual handling, equipment, Better Care at Home, children’s assessments).
• Provide clinical recommendations to support service delivery and independence.
• Work with colleagues, partners, citizens and carers to deliver holistic support.
• Promote equality, diversity and inclusion in line with Adult Social Care.
