Job summary

Southampton City Council is seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join the Living and AgeingWell service, delivering adult social care OT with equipment, adaptations, and prevention. You will work with colleagues and partner agencies to ensure a high quality, responsive service.

The role involves assessing independence, advising on activities, recommending equipment and home adaptations, and promoting wellbeing.

Qualifications

Excellent communication within a multi-disciplinary team.
Ability to justify clinical decision making.
Ability to plan, prioritise and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

To complete occupational therapy assessments for adults in relation to personal independence and occupations.
To advise and teach methods of daily activities to promote independent living.
To recommend and provide equipment and adaptations and guide clients and carers in its use.
To provide advice on home adaptations and liaise with other agencies to facilitate this work.
To maintain records and promote the service within policies.
