Job summary

Portsmouth City Council is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join the Adult Social Care Community Occupational Therapy Service. The role involves assessing needs in residents' own homes, adapting activities to support independent living, and promoting wellbeing using assistive technologies.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BSc in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Knowledge of Adult Social Care eligibility criteria.
• Competence in IT systems and electronic record keeping.
• Ability to travel across Portsmouth and visit client homes.

Responsibilities

• Assess needs, identify outcomes, and implement action plans using a strength-based model.
• Adapt daily living activities to promote independence and Wellbeing.
• Use assistive technologies and specialist equipment as needed to restore occupational performance.
• Manage own caseload with documentation and risk assessments, with supervision as required.
