Job summary

Quay View School is recruiting an Occupational Therapist to join our Therapy team. We welcome passionate, caring professionals who can work closely with another Occupational Therapist and other staff to support students with autism and SEMH needs.

You will be HCPC registered with a BSc Occupational Therapy, and you should have experience working with young people with complex needs. The role involves delivering and reviewing therapeutic provisions, with opportunities to train colleagues onsite

• Experience and knowledge of ASD and sensory processing disorders.

Quay View School (located in Bere Alston) specialises in providing education for children and young people aged 7-19 with autism (ASD) and social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) related conditions, including trauma and attachment. The safeguarding and wellbeing of our students is paramount; along with encouragement to achieve their full potential.We are looking for a practitioner with a passion and knowledge surrounding ASD and sensory processing disorders. The successful applicant will be HCPC registered and will hold BSc Occupational Therapy or profession specific equivalent qualification. Experience of working with young people with complex needs is essential. You will have an experience/awareness of Sensory Processing Disorders and the application of sensory integration theory in practice, assessment and clinical observations and you will be able to demonstrate a dynamic and creative approach to delivering treatment approaches. This role will have a strategic element, whereby you will assess, deliver and review therapeutic provision to our young people. The applicant will be proactive in disseminating best ways of working to the wider support team and will be confident to deliver onsite profession specific training to colleagues as and when required.

The applicant will work in close partnership with a diverse team of Therapy and educational specialists to deliver tailored support that meets the needs of each young person. The applicant will join a supportive and experienced team of dedicated support staff, committed to delivering the very best care. The successful applicant will receive a bespoke internal induction programme and the ability to network with Therapists across other Aspris sites.
