Job summary

Edgewater care home in Wallasey is seeking an Occupational Therapist to support residents with a high-quality OT service throughout their journey. You'll empower residents to maximise independence and work within a supportive clinical team to deliver person-centred care.

You will conduct assessments, develop rehabilitation plans, maintain records and collaborate with physiotherapists, therapy assistants and activities coordinators.

Qualifications

• Must have BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Experience delivering occupational therapy in a care setting is advantageous.
• Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team and promote independence.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver person-centred OT interventions with residents and families.
• Collaborate with Therapy Team to create rehabilitation plans and evaluate outcomes.
• Maintain a clinical caseload and carry out assessments.
• Keep accurate records of occupational therapy services.
• Promote choice, dignity and independence in all care activities.

Rate: Up to £34,875 pro rata per annum

About the role

Our Occupational Therapists provide specialist assessments, clinical diagnoses and interventions to help people overcome the challenges they face with completing everyday tasks and activities.
You'll work as part of a wider Clinical Team to create person-centred care and rehabilitation plans that maintain and build people's abilities, support them to achieve their goals and evaluate their outcomes.
No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• working alongside the people we support, their loved ones and professionals to develop and deliver person-centred occupational therapy interventions
• collaborating closely with the Therapy Team (Physiotherapist, Therapy Assistant and Activities Coordinators)
• being responsible for a clinical caseload
• carrying out assessments
• maintaining accurate records for people receiving occupational therapies
• promoting choice, dignity and independence.
