Job summary

Exemplar Health Care is recruiting a Senior Occupational Therapist to provide specialist OT across four complex care services in the North East. You’ll lead a clinical team, deliver evidence-based interventions and support residents to maximise independence.

You’ll conduct assessments, plan care with the Clinical Team, and maintain thorough records while promoting dignity and choice in every resident’s journey.

Qualifications

• BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy and HCPC registration.
• Strong knowledge of occupational therapy best practice.
• Experience leading teams of therapists.

Responsibilities

• Manage a clinical caseload across four North East services.
• Develop and deliver person-centred OT interventions in collaboration with the Clinical Team.
• Supervise Junior Therapists or Therapy Assistants.
• Maintain accurate records for OT interventions and outcomes.

Position: Senior Occupational Therapist

Care home: Hylton Grange (Sunderland), Tees Grange (Stockton-on-Tees), Laurel Place (Bishop Auckland), Tyne Grange (Newcastle upon Tyne)

Location: Multisite covering four services across the North East region

Contract type: Full time, 40 hours per week - Monday - Friday

Rate: £41,030 per annum

As a Senior Occupational Therapist with us, you’ll support our residents with a high-quality occupational therapy service throughout their journey with us. You’ll play a key role in empowering them and maximising their independence.

You’ll lead and supervise Junior Therapists or Therapy Assistants across the homes you support to ensure delivery of evidence-based, high quality therapy and rehabilitation.

You’ll build relationships with the people you support, and see the progress they make through ongoing care, which is extremely rewarding.

About The Role

Our Occupational Therapists provide specialist assessments, clinical diagnoses and interventions to help people overcome the challenges they face with completing everyday tasks and activities.

You’ll work as part of a wider Clinical Team to create person-centred care and rehabilitation plans that maintain and build people’s abilities, support them to achieve their goals and evaluate their outcomes.

No two days will ever be the same, but your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• being responsible for a clinical caseload
• working alongside the people we support, their loved ones and professionals to develop and deliver person-centred occupational therapy interventions
• collaborating closely with the Therapy Team (Physiotherapist, Therapy Assistant and Activities Coordinators)
• being responsible for a clinical caseload
• carrying out assessments
• maintaining accurate records for people receiving occupational therapies
• promoting choice, dignity and independence.
