Job summary

Wiltshire Council is seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to support children and young people aged 0-18 with complex needs. You will assess needs, plan interventions, and collaborate with families, health professionals and housing providers to enable independence and better daily living.

You will handle a varied caseload, contribute to reviews and multidisciplinary meetings, and advise on equipment, adaptations and housing considerations to improve outcomes in home and community settings.

Qualifications

• Qualified Occupational Therapist registered to practice in the UK.
• Experience with children and young people with complex needs.
• Excellent assessment, communication, and partnership-working skills.

Are you a passionate Occupational Therapist looking to make a real difference to the lives of children and young people with complex needs? We are seeking a dedicated professional to join our specialist team, supporting children and young people aged 0-18 with severe and complex disabilities, life-limiting conditions, and technology-dependent needs. This is a rewarding opportunity to help children achieve greater independence and improve their quality of life.

You will undertake holistic assessments, develop tailored intervention plans, and recommend equipment, adaptations, and strategies that support daily living. Working closely with children, families, carers, health professionals, housing providers, and other agencies, you will ensure that children receive the support they need to thrive at home and within their communities. Your work will include advising on major home adaptations, specialist equipment, moving and handling solutions, and housing needs.

Managing a varied caseload of moderately complex and complex cases, you will use your professional judgement to assess needs, manage risk, and deliver effective outcomes. You will contribute to reports, reviews, case conferences, and multidisciplinary working, while supporting families to navigate changing needs and future planning.
