Job summary

SSEN Transmission is seeking an Occupational Health & Safety professional based in Scotland. You will provide proactive SHW and CDM guidance to Transmission Onshore project teams, supporting risk mitigation and safe working practices across multiple sites.

You will develop trusted stakeholder relationships, promote the Safety Licence, and contribute to the SHW Management System through collaboration and training, ensuring compliance with UK legislation and SSE standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate qualification in Occupational Safety (e.g. NEBOSH Diploma).
• IOSH membership preferred or equivalent.
• Strong stakeholder management to drive safety culture across multiple sites.
• Knowledge of qualitative and quantitative risk assessment techniques, including ALARP.
• Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders at all levels.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel to SSEN sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide proactive SHW and CDM guidance to Transmission Onshore project teams and directorates.
• Support risk mitigation by promoting safety understanding and applying proportionate controls.
• Assist Client, Principal Designer and Designer to comply with CDM and Safe Systems of Work procedures.
• Complete assurance activities, incident reporting, and health and safety performance monitoring.
• Develop stakeholder relationships and promote the Safety Licence across SSEN Transmission.
• Contribute to SHW Management System development and training.
