This is a great opportunity to join our dedicated QSSHE team at Perenco, where you will be responsible for delivering the Occupational Hygiene program.

The primary focus of this position is the anticipation, recognition, evaluation, and control of workplace health risks across Perenco UK operations in the Southern North Sea. A key part of the role involves continual improvement and standardisation of monitoring, auditing, and reporting systems. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with statutory provisions, codes of practice, industry guidelines, and promoting a positive approach to workplace health risks.

This position will be based in our Norwich office, working Monday to Friday, with some travel to offshore and onshore sites as required.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Work with medic/HSEA’s and operational teams to review Health Risk Assessments, identifying hazards, health impacts, routes of entry, and necessary exposure monitoring/health surveillance programs.
• Deliver occupational hygiene plans related to chemical, physical, biological, psychosocial, and ergonomic hazards, including but not limited to:
• Hazardous Substance Management and COSHH risk assessments
• Workplace exposure monitoring for substances like benzene, toluene, xylene, mercury, lead, chromium, solvents, cement-based products, welding fumes, and toxic gases
• Asbestos management and surveys
• Noise, vibration, and radiation management and assessments
• Thermal hazard assessment, potable water management, communicable diseases, mould, animal/insect hazards, DSE, and fatigue

• Recommend and design control strategies.

• Monitor and evaluate control measures such as LEV, PPE, and RPE testing and inspections.

• Deliver occupational hygiene training programs, including asbestos awareness, dust procedures, and PPE/RPE use.

• Ensure audits and inspections cover all operational sites, including support centers and NUIs, ensuring standards are met across all areas including accommodation and welfare facilities.

• Maintain calibration systems for occupational hygiene equipment.

Key Requirements Include:

• Occupational Hygienist with BOHS Certificate of Operational Competence or equivalent qualification, such as a BOHS accredited degree or W & P modules.
• At least 2 years’ experience in occupational hygiene, with knowledge of measurement techniques.
• Strong drive and passion for championing occupational hygiene and influencing management and staff.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting effectively across various forums and mediums.
• Ability to meet deadlines and produce high-quality work.
