SGN is seeking an Occupational Health Screening Nurse to join our Occupational Health team and support the health, wellbeing and safety of our workforce across the South SGN patch in the UK. This fast-paced, travel-heavy role offers a structured development pathway toward an Occupational Health Advisor position.

You will deliver health screening and surveillance programmes, support safe working practices, and ensure a high-quality occupational health service across regions.

Qualifikationen

• NMC Registration and occupational health experience required.
• Experience with health surveillance or workplace wellbeing is desirable.
• UK driving licence and willingness to travel across SGN regions.

Aufgaben

• Deliver health surveillance programmes and screening activities within your area of competence.
• Undertake baseline, pre-placement and periodic health assessments.
• Support safety-critical and pre-employment assessment processes with clinical review when needed.
• Conduct quantitative face fit testing following training and competency sign-off.
• Undertake drug and alcohol testing per company procedures.
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records and support audit/QA activities.
• Coordinate appointments, recalls and follow-ups to ensure positive employee experience.
• Provide wellbeing information and signpost employees to appropriate support services.
• Work closely with Occupational Health Advisors, Physicians, Technicians and wider stakeholders.

We’re looking for an Occupational Health Screening Nurse to join our Occupational Health team and play a key role in supporting the health, wellbeing and safety of our workforce across our operational regions. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse who is passionate about preventative healthcare and is looking to develop specialist occupational health expertise within a supportive and growing team. The role also offers the potential for a structured development pathway towards becoming an Occupational Health Advisor in the future.

As part of a collaborative Occupational Health function, you’ll deliver health screening and surveillance programmes, support safe working practices, and help ensure employees receive a professional, high-quality occupational health service.

This is a fast-paced role in an ever-changing environment that will require regular travel across the South SGN Patch.

• Delivering health surveillance programmes and occupational health screening activities within your area of competence
• Undertaking baseline, pre-placement and periodic health assessments, including taking health histories and carrying out screening tests
• Supporting safety-critical and pre-employment assessment processes, escalating findings requiring clinical review
• Conducting quantitative face fit testing following training and competency sign-off
• Undertaking drug and alcohol testing in line with company procedures and governance requirements
• Maintaining accurate, confidential clinical records and supporting audit and quality assurance activities
• Coordinating appointments, recalls and follow-up actions to ensure a positive employee experience
• Providing wellbeing information and signposting employees to appropriate support services
• Working closely with Occupational Health Advisors, Occupational Health Physicians, Occupational Health Technicians and wider business stakeholders

What You Will Need

• NMC registration, plus occupational health, health surveillance or workplace wellbeing experience
• Strong clinical assessment skills and professional judgement
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to discuss sensitive health matters with confidence and empathy
• A thorough understanding of confidentiality, consent, professional governance and record keeping
• Experience managing competing priorities and working effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Experience in areas such as audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, face fit testing, or drug and alcohol testing is desirable
• An understanding of workplace health risks and fitness for work considerations
• Experience supporting service improvement, health promotion or preventative health programmes.

You must have a full manual UK driving license as regular travel will be a key part of this role
