SGN is seeking an Occupational Health Screening Nurse to join our Occupational Health team and support the health, wellbeing and safety of our workforce across the South SGN patch (Epsom, Horsham, Aldershot, Portsmouth, Oxford, Poole). The role offers a competitive salary of £46,100–£57,800 per annum (dependent on skills and qualifications) and full-time, peripatetic working.

Qualifications

• NMC registration, with occupational health, health surveillance or workplace wellbeing experience
• Strong clinical assessment skills and professional judgement
• Excellent communication and ability to discuss sensitive health matters with confidence and empathy
• Confidentiality, consent, governance and record keeping
• Ability to manage competing priorities in multidisciplinary teams
• Willingness to travel regularly across the SGN patch
• Experience in audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, face fit testing, or drug and alcohol testing is desirable

Responsabilités

• Deliver health surveillance programmes and occupational health screening within your area of competence
• Undertake baseline, pre-placement and periodic health assessments, including health histories and screening tests
• Support safety-critical and pre-employment assessment processes, escalating findings requiring clinical review
• Conduct quantitative face fit testing following training and competency sign-off
• Undertake drug and alcohol testing in line with company procedures and governance requirements
• Maintain accurate, confidential clinical records and support audit and quality assurance activities
• Coordinating appointments, recalls and follow-up actions to ensure a positive employee experience
• Providing wellbeing information and signposting employees to appropriate support services
• Working closely with Occupational Health Advisors, Physicians, Technicians and wider stakeholders

We're looking for an Occupational Health Screening Nurse to join our Occupational Health team and play a key role in supporting the health, wellbeing and safety of our workforce across our operational regions. This is an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse who is passionate about preventative healthcare and is looking to develop specialist occupational health expertise within a supportive and growing team. The role also offers the potential for a structured development pathway towards becoming an Occupational Health Advisor in the future.

As part of a collaborative Occupational Health function, you'll deliver health screening and surveillance programmes, support safe working practices, and help ensure employees receive a professional, high-quality occupational health service.
This is a fast-paced role in an ever-changing environment that will require regular travel across the South SGN Patch.

What you will need

• NMC registration, plus occupational health, health surveillance or workplace wellbeing experience

• Strong clinical assessment skills and professional judgement
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to discuss sensitive health matters with confidence and empathy
• A thorough understanding of confidentiality, consent, professional governance and record keeping
• Experience managing competing priorities and working effectively within multidisciplinary teams
• A commitment to continuous learning and professional development
• Experience in areas such as audiometry, spirometry, vision screening, face fit testing, or drug and alcohol testing is desirable
• An understanding of workplace health risks and fitness for work considerations
• Experience supporting service improvement, health promotion or preventative health programmes.

You must have a full manual UK driving license as regular travel will be a key part of this role.
