Job summary

The University of Nottingham is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Operational Lead to manage the operational delivery of its outsourced Occupational Health service, reporting to the Occupational Health Manager. You will ensure a high-quality, compliant service for staff and students across a complex stakeholder environment.

You will monitor performance, drive improvements, validate invoices, and support governance and cost control in a hybrid working setting.

Qualifications

  • Experience in a complex, compliance-driven environment.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical skills with data interpretation.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder influence.
  • Knowledge of data protection, confidentiality and governance frameworks.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operational delivery of Occupational Health services and act as the main point of contact for stakeholders.
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and SLAs, addressing non-compliance and driving service improvements.
  • Analyze service data to identify trends, risks and opportunities, translating insight into effective action.
  • Provide oversight of processes, ensuring consistent, fair and compliant application across the University.
  • Act as an escalation point for complex or sensitive issues, applying sound judgement to resolve them.
  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support service delivery.
  • Support governance, risk management and compliance.
  • Validate invoices and monitor costs to ensure financial accuracy and value for money.
  • Contribute to service development and continuous improvement initiatives.
