Job summary

Greys Specialist Recruitment seeks an experienced Occupational Health Nurse for an in-house role in Warrington. The position is full-time and permanent, covering management referrals, safety-critical medicals, and fitness-for-work assessments on site.

The role offers an on-site office and equipment, with the potential for a 50/50 job share and the autonomy to shape the site’s Occupational Health provision.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin.
• Strong experience carrying out case management.
• Able to work independently following induction.
• Experience in Occupational Health preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Cover management referrals and safety critical medicals.
• Conduct fitness-for-work assessments and FLT medicals.
• Build relationships across the site to shape OH provision.
• Support driver populations or health surveillance if needed.

Occupational Health Nurse

Warrington

Full-time, permanent

Salary £45,000-£50,000 per annum

This is an opportunity for an experienced OHN to move away from a high-volume environment and take genuine ownership of an in-house Occupational Health function, building strong relationships across the site and making a tangible difference to a large workforce. The role will focus on covering management referrals, safety critical medicals, fitness for work assessments and FLT medicals.

About You

You will ideally have practical Occupational Health experience and be confident working independently within a busy manufacturing environment.

A formal Occupational Health qualification is not essential for the right person. The organisation is particularly interested in candidates who can demonstrate strong practical OH experience and the ability to operate effectively & confidently in an in-house setting, rather than focusing solely on academic qualifications.

Experience within manufacturing, safety-critical environments, health surveillance, fitness-for-work or supporting driver populations would be advantageous (but not essential).

Occupational Health Nurse essential requirements:

• Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin
• Able to work self sufficiently following induction
• Strong experience carrying out case management
• Experience working as an Occupational Health Nurse

The successful candidate will be confident in their professional judgement and comfortable professionally challenging managers and stakeholders where necessary. You’ll need to be able to explain and stand behind your OH recommendations, even when they may not be the outcome others were hoping for.
