Job summary

Howdens Joinery Limited is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to deliver confidential OH services at our Raunds site. You will run clinics, support case management, and assist with rehabilitation and return-to-work programmes in a busy operation.

The role offers autonomous OH practice within a collaborative cross-functional team, with strong emphasis on health promotion and records integrity.

Qualifications

• A recognised Occupational Health qualification.
• Previous occupational health experience in a similar role.
• A full UK driving licence.
• Strong case-management, planning and organisational skills.
• Ability to manage and prioritise a varied workload.
• Good IT skills and ability to maintain accurate records.
• Excellent communication skills with colleagues and managers at all levels.
• Ability to build trusted working relationships while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
• Confidence to challenge existing practices constructively and impartially.
• Ability to work independently, use initiative and recognise escalation when required.
• Professional, patient and diligent approach with commitment to excellent service.
• Experience of occupational hygiene monitoring, health surveillance or related training is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver occupational health clinics and confidential one-to-one consultations.
• Support management of OH cases, including rehabilitation and return-to-work programmes.
• Prepare case information and follow up on recommendations from OH Physician or Lead OH Advisor.
• Support employee health surveillance and screening programmes, coordinating appointments.
• Identify health trends and workplace risks, escalating appropriately.
• Maintain secure, confidential medical records and provide OH guidance to managers and HR.
• Support health education, wellbeing activities and OH training.
• Advise operational teams during workplace changes with ergonomics and safety considerations.
