Job summary

Hovis Bakeries is seeking an Occupational Health Advisor to deliver an exceptional OH service across West Bromwich and related depots, ensuring health surveillance compliance, fitness assessments and wellbeing promotion.

The role requires RGN status (Part 3) and a recognised Occupational Health qualification, with up-to-date surveillance knowledge, the ability to provide practical advice, and strong records management in line with data protection.

Qualifications

• Be part of the Safety First culture and role-model safe working practices.
• Ensure full compliance with statutory responsibilities for health surveillance.
• Carry out pre-employment health screening to assess fitness for work under relevant legislation and best-practice frameworks.
• Collaborate with HR and line managers on absence and ill-health case management and capability matters.
• Arrange, promote and coordinate a programme of health promotion campaigns.
• Provide health education through written information and participation in training sessions.
• Complete periodic surveillance KPIs for submission to the central Health & Safety team.
• Maintain effective relationships with the wider Occupational Health and Safety network teams.

An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Midlands region working closely with the HR team and line managers, the Occupational Health Advisor is responsible for delivering an exceptional Occupational Health service across the site. Core activities include maintaining health surveillance compliance and fitness assessments, as well as health and wellbeing promotion and case management

Key Accountabilities
