Where you fit in

Based in the Southern North Sea, Operations & Maintenance Tech will be based on Leman Alpha. Reporting to the platform supervision team (Operations & Maintenance Supervisors), technicians are responsible for the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of installation plant and equipment. They are required to maximise and optimise production opportunities and achieve day-to-day production targets, whilst maintaining plant equipment, undertaking corrective and preventative maintenance tasks as needed. This includes investigating anomalies, front-line problem solving, and reporting/rectifying issues to ensure the processing and ancillary plant operate within the specified window. Ad-hoc visitors and vendors may also be directed by the Operations & Maintenance Tech.

Notification of business unit transition

This position is within the One Gas West asset organization. On 30th July 2024, Shell announced the sale of this asset to RockRose Energy Limited, a subsidiary of Viaro Energy. Upon completion, the successful candidate's employment will transfer to a Viaro Energy company under TUPE regulations, estimated for autumn 2025. Further details will be shared during the recruitment process.

What’s the role?

1. Support delivery of production targets through monitoring and optimisation of plant.
2. Ensure facility production, environmental targets, and operating costs are achieved, minimizing potential losses.
3. Support the “One Team” approach, assisting the OIM and supervisors to improve efficiency.
4. Contribute to root cause analysis processes like the 5 Whys for production losses.
5. Participate in offshore/onshore meetings (e.g., surveillance and defect elimination).
6. Lead or support modifications to the installation as appropriate.

What we need from you

• Exemplify safety leadership and behaviors, ensuring HSSE standards are upheld.
• Be conversant with all installation activities for on-the-spot decision making.
• Be a competent Isolation Owner and permit holder in P-Vision.
• Participate in audits and near-miss reporting.
• Engage with assessment processes like COSHH, risk assessments, manual handling.
• Be familiar with Platform Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
• Understand the Installation Safety Case and related documentation.
• Maintain high standards of ownership in your responsibilities.
• Respond proactively to emergencies under management direction, following the Station Bill.
• Monitor plant and equipment, recording defects as needed.
• Be familiar with electronic maintenance tools, ideally SAP, for defect reporting and resource management.
• Comply with Permit to Work system, including creating and assisting with permits for maintenance and turnarounds.
• Execute Planned and Corrective Maintenance routines proficiently.
• Communicate effectively with onshore teams about status and requirements.
• Work on unmanned installations when required (e.g., Walk to Work vessels).
