Job summary

Tozer Group in the North Manchester area is recruiting an O&M Engineer to cover utility-scale BESS and Solar PV sites. You will perform planned and reactive electrical maintenance, fault finding, inspections and testing while coordinating contractors and keeping accurate records.

Full training is provided; BESS experience is desirable but not essential. The role offers a £45,000 - £52,000 salary plus up to 20% bonus, overtime, a company van with fuel card, and long‑term career progression.

Qualifications

• Must hold a relevant electrical qualification.
• Industrial electrical maintenance experience is essential.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills are required.
• Full UK Driving Licence is essential.
• HV / AP experience is advantageous but not required.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive electrical maintenance on BESS and Solar PV sites.
• Fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs to electrical systems.
• Inspection, testing and preventative maintenance activities.
• Manage sensors, communications and control equipment.

O&M Engineer - BESS / Battery Storage

Location: North Manchester & surrounding areas

Salary: £45,000 - £52,000 + OTE

Job Type: Permanent | Full-Time

I am currently recruiting for an O&M Engineer to join a rapidly growing company within the renewable energy and battery storage sector.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Electrical Technician, Industrial Electrician or O&M Engineer looking to develop a career within BESS / Battery Energy Storage.

Previous BESS experience is not essential - full training will be provided.

The Role

Working across utility-scale BESS and Solar PV sites, you will be responsible for:

• Planned and reactive electrical maintenance
• Fault finding, troubleshooting and repairs
• Inspection, testing and preventative maintenance
• BESS, Solar PV and associated electrical systems
• Sensors, communications and control equipment
• Supporting commissioning activities
• Coordinating and supervising contractors
• Maintaining accurate service records and reports
• Working safely and in line with Health & Safety requirements

There is also the opportunity to develop towards HV Authorised Person (AP) and Senior Authorised Person (SAP) level.
