Job summary

NHS England, Thames Valley Local Office, invites applications for a Consultant with a strong interest in medical education to be Training Programme Director for O&G ST1/2 residents, also incorporating Teaching Lead responsibilities.

The role focuses on learner supervision, curriculum alignment and educational outcomes, with collaboration across multi-professional teams and the ultrasound teaching components. Office-based with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Applications are invited from current STC members or those in the specialty who can demonstrate interest in education and training.
• TPDs are accountable to the Head of School and focus on learner supervision, assessment and experience.
• Teaching Lead ensures ST1/2 residents meet curriculum requirements and use the ePortfolio.
• Teaching Lead monitors trainees' performance in MRCOG Part 1 exam and contributes to the Annual Report.
• Colleagues with an office base are expected to spend about 40% of time in our offices.
• We cannot offer visa sponsorship for vacancies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the delivery of functions aligned to NHS England mandate.
• Work across health and social care to deliver an integrated workforce.
• Collaborate with College Tutors and Educational Supervisors to meet curriculum needs.
• Monitor and report on trainee progress and educational outcomes.
