Job summary

St Mary’s Catholic Primary School in Brewood is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our caring team. You will support pupils across the classroom, helping them engage with the curriculum, build confidence, and develop independence in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

Previous experience in a school is desirable, but not essential, as training and DBS checks are provided. This is a 32.5-hour-per-week role, term-time only plus INSETS, with potential for job-share.

Qualifications

• Candidates should be patient and caring with a proactive approach to supporting learning.
• Ability to work effectively in a classroom and with diverse learners.
• Experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with learning tasks and classroom activities.
• Help pupils engage with the curriculum and develop confidence.
• Assist with behaviour management and a positive learning environment.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources for lessons.
• Assist during breaks, trips and additional activities as required.
• Collaborate with the class teacher and staff to track pupil progress.
