Job summary

Milk Education is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Liverpool (L9) on a long‑term basis. You will provide general classroom support in EYFS, helping children with early development, learning and social skills within a supportive team.

The role involves assisting with phonics, early reading, writing and maths, promoting positive behaviour and inclusion, and supporting lesson preparation and assessment tasks.

Qualifications

• Recent and relevant experience working in an educational setting.
• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (CACHE, Childcare, NNEB, or equivalent) or similar working experience.
• A passion for supporting EYFS pupils.
• A nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to learning support.
• Ability to follow guidance from the class teacher and work effectively as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide general classroom support to the class teacher and KS1 pupils.
• Support children’s learning through group work, interventions, and focused 1:1 support.
• Assist with the delivery of phonics, early reading, writing, and maths activities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, inclusion, and emotional development.
• Support with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and observation/assessment tasks.
