Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a nurturing SEND Teaching Assistant to support a welcoming primary school in Newark, NG24. You will work within The Hub to provide patient, empathetic support to children with additional needs, enabling access to learning at their own pace.

Experience with SEND is beneficial; a safeguarding mindset is essential. The role offers regular placements and a chance to build lasting progress for students in a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Patient, empathetic and understanding approach to supporting children with SEND.
• Experience or willingness to support children with SEND in an education setting.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusivity.

Responsibilities

• Support children with additional needs within The Hub, individually and in small groups.
• Adapt activities and communication so children can access learning at their own pace.
• Offer calm reassurance and help pupils manage emotions and changing routines.
• Support safe participation in classroom activities and outdoor learning.
• Work closely with school staff to maintain consistent support and share pupil progress.
