Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Newark (The Hub). You will support children with SEND, work with a caring and nurturing approach, and help pupils access learning activities.

You will build trusting relationships, support well-being and behaviour, and collaborate with teaching staff to meet individual needs. A relevant TA qualification or experience and an enhanced DBS are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEND.
• A patient, nurturing and caring approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or experience.
• An enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Supporting children with SEND individually and in small groups.
• Helping pupils access and engage with learning activities.
• Building positive relationships and encouraging independence.
• Supporting emotional well-being and positive behaviour.
• Working closely with teaching staff to meet individual needs.
