Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting for SEND Teaching Assistants in Doncaster to support children with additional needs in primary and secondary settings. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to create a calm, inclusive classroom where every pupil can access learning and develop confidence.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEND, education, care, or support backgrounds.
• Patient, nurturing, and reliable approach.
• Confidence supporting learning activities and personal care where required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Genuine commitment to inclusion and supporting every child's development.
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Supporting pupils with SEND during lessons and structured learning activities.
• Adapting learning approaches to suit individual needs and abilities.
• Encouraging communication, engagement, and independence.
• Providing personal care where required, always with dignity and respect.
• Supporting pupils with emotional regulation and positive behaviour.
• Working collaboratively with teachers and wider support teams.
• Helping to create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment.
• Celebrating progress and achievements, however small.
