Job summary

The Methodist Church in Britain is seeking an experienced nursing educator to teach resuscitation and recognition of deteriorating patients within the urgent and emergency care division. The role includes clinical teaching across the division, with one ED resuscitation room shift weekly and involvement in ILS and trauma training.

Applicants should hold NMC registration, ALS, ATNC, and have Band 7 ED experience with leadership in resuscitation settings.

Qualifications

• Masters degree or equivalent.
• NMC registration.
• Band 7 emergency department experience.
• Two years' experience.
• Leadership in a resuscitation room.
• Practice supervisor and assessor.
• Teaching resuscitation skills in clinical or classroom settings, such as simulation, or willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Deliver resuscitation and deteriorating patient teaching in clinical practice, classrooms and simulation.
• Allocate at least two days of clinical teaching each month.
• Work one shift a week in the ED resuscitation room.
• Develop nursing competencies and a competence framework across UEC.
• Support governance on the deteriorating patient across UEC.
• Collaborate with the UEC CPE team to deliver the education strategy.
• Develop standards of care, protocols and guidelines grounded in evidence.
• Provide clinical and theoretical support to registered nurses and multidisciplinary staff.
• Work with Resuscitation and Critical Care Outreach teams to maintain competence.
