Job summary

JCO Healthcare is seeking an experienced Home Manager to lead a large, well-established nursing home in Somerset. You will take overall responsibility for day-to-day operations, drive high standards of care, and maintain excellent relationships with residents, families and staff.

You will provide visible leadership, develop and support the management and care teams, ensure CQC compliance, and optimise occupancy, recruitment and the home’s commercial performance.

Qualifications

• Experience as Home Manager in nursing or elderly care.
• Strong understanding of CQC compliance and governance.
• Proven ability to lead large teams and develop staff.
• Ability to balance care quality with commercial needs.
• Nurse-qualified candidates welcome; non-nurses considered with relevant experience.

JCO Healthcare is delighted to be working with an established, independently owned care provider to appoint an experienced Home Manager for a large, well-established nursing home in Somerset.

This is an excellent opportunity to take leadership of an amazing nursing home with a Good CQC rating, working closely with the owner and senior leadership team.

The Role

As Home Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the day-to-day leadership of the home, ensuring consistently high standards of care while creating a positive environment for residents, families and colleagues.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing strong, visible leadership across the home
• Maintaining high standards of quality, compliance and governance
• Leading, developing and supporting the home's management and care teams
• Ensuring the home remains fully compliant with CQC requirements
• Building positive relationships with residents, relatives and external professionals
• Supporting occupancy, recruitment, retention and the overall commercial performance of the home
• Driving a positive culture centred around quality and person-centred care

The Candidate

We would be particularly interested in speaking with:

• Experienced Home Managers from a nursing or elderly care background
• Strong Deputy Managers ready to take the next step, where they can demonstrate suitable large-home leadership experience
• Managers with a strong understanding of CQC compliance and governance
• Person-centred leaders who can engage, motivate and develop their teams
• Candidates who combine excellent care standards with sound commercial awareness

Nurse-qualified and non-nurse candidates will be considered depending on experience
